Uckfield is a town in the county of East Sussex, 43 miles from London. The town has a population of 13,350 as of 2001. The town has grown mainly as a commuter town for London. It is known for being the final place Lord Lucan was seen, at the home of his friends Ian and Susan Maxwell-Scott in 1974. The town's Picture House cinema was built in 1916, and is allegedly the only cinema for 20 miles. The town is twinned with Quickborn, a town in Germany.
