Arinagour is the main port settlement for the island of Coll, in Argyll and Bute. It rests on the East coast, only 5km from the northern point at the pinnacle of Loch Eatharna. The idyllic scenery and quiet surroundings make Arinagour an attractive destination for a peaceful holiday. For history and archeology enthusiasts, Arinagour has its own cairn: a pile of stones lain out to mark a route or a summit. Arinagour is Coll's only village, and has its own harbour and pier where the CalMac ferry from Oban stops. Half the island's population reside at Arinagour, and contend with just a few shops and a post office. There is no petrol station but a car is not really necessary. At just 13 miles by 4 miles, the best way to explore the island is by foot or bike.
