LLandovery is a market town in the county of Carmenthshire, Wales, lying on the River Tywi. The town has a population of 2,870. Llandovery has the most pubs per head in Wales, and other attractions include a charity-run theatre, a heritage centre, the ruins of a castle and, nearby, a gold mine which is owned by the National Trust, and is open for tours. The town is on the A40 trunk road, which leads to Gloucester and the towns of Brecon and Abergavenny. The A40 also leads to the M4, for routes to Swansea, Cardiff, Bristol and London.
