Lichfield is a town of 27,900 inhabitants in the county of Staffordshire. Lichfield is famous for its three-spired cathedral, upin which building commenced in 1195, to be completed in the 1330s. The town of Lichfield dates back to 669, when the town was mentioned in Bede's History. During the 18th Century, Lichfield became a centre of intellectual activity, with a number of famous people living in the town, including Samuel Johnson an David Garrick.
