Maidenhead is a town in Berkshire, England. The town has a population of approximately 60,000 inhabitants. Maidenhead is a part of the borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and lies on the banks of the River Thames. The town developed as Maidenhead was originally a crossing point for the River Thames, and later, the Great Western Road was diverted through the town when a bridge over the Thames was built. The Great Western Railway passes through Maidenhead, and has been instrumental in the development of the town.
