Reigate is an historic market town in the county of Surrey. Originally known as Cherchefelle, the town was first mentioned in the Domesday book. It is believed that the name came from Roe-deer Gate, as the town was situated near to the entrance to the de Warenne family's deer park, which is now Priory Park and Reigate Park. The town has a population of 21,820 inhabitants, many of whom work in the city of London. The towns railway station sees services to Redhill, Gatwick Airport, Guildford and Reading, and from those stations connections to London stations. can be made. Reigate is also close to the M25, and so is well placed for the M4 hi-tech region, and most of the towns around London, as well as both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
