Kettering is a town in Northamptonshire. It was originally a Roman town, and was granted its market charter in 1227. The town was originally a site for cloth production, and later moved into the boot and shoe industry. Now, the town boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the UK. Large employers in the town include Weetabix, Pegasus Software, Kettering General Hospital and Tresham Institute of further and Higher Education. The town is well linked to the UK via the A6 Carlisle-Luton road, and the A43 leading to the M1. The town is also on the Midland Main Line to London. Nearby towns include Peterborough, Northampton, Market Harborough, Wellingborough, Bedford and Rugby.
