About Redhill - show infohide info
Redhill is a town in Surrey, England, part of the London commuter belt. Much of Old Redhill disappeared as renewal that lasted well into the eighties modernised the town, putting the traffic mainly on its outside and creating a pedestrianised precinct and shopping mall at its centre. Redhill is part of the Reigate and Banstead local government district. Redhill came into being when a road was built in 1818. The settlement was originally known as Warwick Town and became known as Redhill when the post office moved from Red Hill Common in 1856.
