Stevenage is a town and district in Hertfordshire, England, and is part of the London Commuter Belt. Stevenage was the first "new town" to be created in the UK. Sites of interest around Stevenage include The Six Hills, Roman Barrows, the Gordon Craig Theatre and the extensive Fairlands Valley parkland area. Stevenage is somewhat notable for including some of the tallest street-lights in Britain. Stevenage has good leisure and entertainment facilities and the Fairlands Valley Park, running through the centre of the town is a good spot for walks and picnics. The renowned contemporary art gallery, Boxfield Gallery, is also located in Stevenage.
