Bromley is the principal town in the London borough of Bromley, located approximately 9 miles south-east from the City of London and Charing Cross. The origins of the town's name is "the open field or clearings, where the broom bushes grow". The town has a large shopping and retail centre, including a pedestrianised high street and 'The Glades' shopping centre. There are two railway stations providing connections to the City and West End.
