Morpeth is a small market town in the county of Northumberland, in the North east of the UK. It is administrative town of the county of Northumberland, despite its small population - just 13,833. The town prospered in the 12th century, when its charter was granted by King John, and today the town has a thriving centre. It is a commuter town for the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
