Llandudno retains much of its victorian charm, with the majority of buildings on the seafront dating from that era. The Llandudno pier was built in 1878, is 1,234ft in length and is a Grade II listed building. In 1884 the pier was extended in a landwards, extending its length to 2,295ft. The pier was ravaged by fire in 1994, but has since been restored to its former glory. The North Wales theatre, and North Wales Conference centre are also in the town. Llandudno still attracts tourists every summer, and is seen as a generally high class resort.
