Reigate is an historic market town in the county of Surrey. Originally known as Cherchefelle, the town was first mentioned in the Domesday book. It is believed that the name came from Roe-deer Gate, as the town was situated near to the entrance to the de Warenne family's deer park, which is now Priory Park and Reigate Park. The town has a population of 21,820 inhabitants, many of whom work in the city of London.
